Under the motto “Dare to Play, Dare to Win,” the Santa Clara Marbella Masters 2026 brought together players for two days of competition at Santa Clara Golf Marbella on August 7 and 8.

The weekend combined the team spirit of the VI Santa Clara Tournament, played in Pairs Better Ball format, with the prestige of the VI Enrique Canales Memorial, an Individual Stableford competition held in honour of the designer of the Santa Clara Golf course.

At the centre of it all was the most coveted prize of the weekend: the Green Jacket. After five previous champions, the 2026 edition was searching for its sixth name. That name is now Gorka Guillén.

August 7: VI Santa Clara Tournament – Better Together

The Marbella Masters weekend began on August 7 with the VI Santa Clara Tournament, a Pairs Better Ballcompetition where strategy, trust and teamwork were just as important as individual performance.

This year’s title delivered an especially memorable story, with father and son Amadeo Hernández López and Amedeo Hernández Bueno combining their games to become the 2026 champions.

The day also recognised some of the standout individual shots of the competition. Reyes Pintado claimed the Female Longest Drive, while Santiago Jiménez de Andrade took the Male Longest Drive. Pablo Trapote finished closest to the flag to win the Nearest to the Pin challenge.

It was the perfect opening to the Marbella Masters weekend: competitive, social and full of the moments that make tournament golf at Santa Clara special.

August 8: VI Enrique Canales Memorial – The honour of the Green Jacket

The intensity rose on August 8 with the VI Enrique Canales Memorial, named in honour of Enrique Canales, designer of the Santa Clara Golf course.

Played as an Individual Stableford competition, the tournament challenged every golfer to take on the course alone, with competitions across First Category, Second Category and Ladies Category.

But another battle was taking place alongside the Stableford classifications.

The players were also chasing the Scratch Championship, the Santa Clara Green Jacket and an exclusive prize of 30 consecutive days of Unlimited Golf at Santa Clara Golf Marbella.

The special challenges produced another set of memorable performances. Agnieszka Bednarczyk won the Female Longest Drive, Errol Martinez claimed the Male Longest Drive and Antonio Vera took the Nearest to the Pin prize.

Gorka Guillén Becomes the Sixth Green Jacket Champion

There are tournament victories, and then there are victories that become part of a club’s history.

Since 2021, the Santa Clara Masters Green Jacket has been reserved for the Scratch Champion, creating an increasingly exclusive list of players who have earned the right to wear it.

  • 2026 – Gorka Guillén

With his victory, Gorka Guillén becomes only the sixth golfer to win the Santa Clara Green Jacket, adding his name to a tradition that has become one of the defining symbols of the Marbella Masters.

Alongside the Jacket, the 2026 Scratch Champion receives 30 days of Unlimited Golf at Santa Clara Golf Marbella, giving him an entire month to return to the course where he made history.
