Carlos Santos-Rein, our new manager in charge of Santa Clara Golf Marbella, returns to what he calls “his home” with a new vision: the promotion of sport, the encouragement of tourism, and the incorporation of technology.
The summer audience will be national, so the goal will be to make spanish fall in love through golf. “As a sports facility that we are, we want the local player to consider us his usual training ground. To this end, tournaments and competitions will be promoted to encourage them to get closer to the field and improve their game”.
New alliances that strengthen sportsmanship
An alliance was made with the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation to attract kids to play, through our Young Golf program. Any national player under the age of 14 can play for only €5 as long as they are accompanied by an adult, taking advantage of our €80 Parent / Child rate with buggy included. Players under the age of 30 can play for €30, an attractive rate for young sports fans.
“Golf is in our veins, we grew up surrounded by it. So we want to get closer to families. To do this, we have contacted schools to include golf in their programs in their school hours”, explains Santos-Rein.
On the other hand, alliances are being agreed with institutions and groups to offer them free initiation classes, covered by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. Similarly, we support golf professionals to approach our facilities to teach their lessons at preferential prices.
Boost golf tourism
The golf industry on the Costa del Sol moves a lot of tourism, we are the main European destination because we have many advantages: a great climate with 350 days of sunshine -perfect for enjoying golf-, a variety of high-quality courses, attractive beaches near the courses and many city amenities available to players.
We want to recover and relaunch alliances with tour operators and golf-related companies. Carlos comments: “Our goal is to strengthen ties to enhance the visit to the field and reactivate the passion that unites us”.

Renewal of the sector through technology
“We want the experience in the field to be better and better. That is why we are adopting new technologies to Santa Clara ”, explains Rodolfo Rojas, the new sales and marketing manager of Santa Clara Golf.
